What to Expect

A safe space to explore what's really going on

Sex therapy goes beyond traditional couples counseling by addressing sexual concerns directly — not dancing around them. I work with the emotional, relational, and physical layers that shape your intimate life: the patterns you've developed, the wounds you carry, and the disconnection you feel. Whether it's desire, trust, trauma, or communication, we explore what's actually getting in the way and build a path forward together.

I begin by exploring why you perceive an issue as problematic, highlighting the impact of societal norms on sex and sexuality. It's vital for changes to stem from personal desire rather than societal pressures.

Addressing sexual issues involves considering relational dynamics, personal history, and contextual factors, with a focus on emotional, cognitive, behavioral, relational, and contextual changes. I utilize various therapeutic approaches, including EFT, Parts Work, and Trauma-Focused therapy. As a sex and body positive therapist, I support diverse sexual identities and practices, affirming queer, poly, and kink orientations.

What Clients Say

★★★★★

“She was able to validate my feelings but also help me work on areas in my life where I could use improvement. I felt confident through the whole process that even though I was struggling, if I worked with her she would help me reach a resolution. I believe my husband felt very comfortable with her as well. Her option to meet on Zoom made it that much more convenient — I could make an appointment at any time during the day. I appreciate all she did for my husband and I.”

How to Choose a Sex Therapist

What To Look For In A Sex Therapist in Oregon

When looking for a sex therapist, prioritize finding a couples therapist with a specialization in sex therapy. Training in couples therapy is crucial for effectively addressing sexual issues within relationships. Exercise caution when considering sex coaches, as they may focus primarily on behavioral and cognitive aspects without fully addressing complex relationship dynamics. Inquire about the therapist's experience with relational trauma and their approach to sexual desire discrepancies. Optimal therapy should encompass behavior, cognition, relational and contextual factors, as well as past traumas.

New Book

The Intimacy Gap — Dr. Marisol G. Westberg

The Intimacy Gap →

When one of you wants more — and both of you are suffering

Desire discrepancy is one of the most common patterns in long-term relationships — and one of the most misunderstood. This book explains why it happens, what keeps it going, and what genuinely helps. Written by Dr. Westberg from years of working with couples navigating exactly this.

Oregon Areas I Serve

Providing Sex Therapy Across Oregon

I work with clients across Oregon via secure telehealth — no commute, no waiting room. Wherever you are in the state, we can meet online.

Sex therapy serving Salem, Oregon

Salem, OR

I provide online sex therapy and couples counseling to individuals and couples in Salem and throughout the Willamette Valley. Whether you're navigating desire discrepancy, sexual trauma, or intimacy challenges, we can meet via telehealth from wherever you are.

Salem sits at the heart of Oregon's wine country. A slow afternoon driving the Willamette Valley wine trail together — no agenda, just presence — can be quietly restorative for couples working on reconnection.

Sex therapy serving Eugene, Oregon

Eugene, OR

Eugene clients can access sex therapy and couples counseling online through my Oregon telehealth practice. I work with individuals and couples on a full range of sexual health concerns — including low desire, performance anxiety, infidelity recovery, and sexual trauma.

Hendricks Park's rhododendron garden is one of Eugene's quieter pleasures — a slow walk among the blooms in spring can give couples something unhurried and beautiful to share outside the work of therapy.

Sex therapy serving Gresham, Oregon

Gresham, OR

I serve Gresham residents through secure online sessions as part of my Oregon telehealth practice. Gresham couples and individuals dealing with intimacy issues, sexual concerns, or relationship stress can access the same specialized sex therapy available in Portland — from home.

Gresham sits at the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge. The drive up to Crown Point Vista House — especially at sunset — is the kind of shared experience that quietly reminds couples why they chose each other.

Sex therapy serving Hillsboro, Oregon

Hillsboro, OR

Hillsboro clients can connect with me for online sex therapy and couples counseling through my licensed Oregon telehealth practice. I work with couples and individuals on sexual health, desire, trauma, and relationship dynamics — meeting you where you are, from the privacy of your own home.

Hillsboro borders the Tualatin Valley wine region — an afternoon of wine tasting along the wine trail, unhurried and exploratory, gives couples a low-pressure space to simply enjoy each other's company.

Sex therapy serving Beaverton, Oregon

Beaverton, OR

I provide sex therapy and couples counseling to Beaverton residents through my Oregon telehealth practice. Sessions are conducted entirely via Zoom — making it easy to prioritize your relationship without adding a commute into Portland to an already full schedule.

Tualatin Hills Nature Park offers miles of quiet trails through forest and wetlands — the kind of side-by-side walk that creates space for real conversation without the pressure of sitting face to face.

Sex therapy serving Bend, Oregon

Bend, OR

Bend clients can access specialized sex therapy and couples counseling through my Oregon telehealth practice. I work with individuals and couples throughout Central Oregon on intimacy, desire, sexual trauma, and relationship challenges — all via secure online sessions.

Bend's high desert skies make for some of Oregon's best stargazing. A night under the Oregon Cascades — away from screens, away from routine — can be a surprisingly powerful reset for couples working on presence and connection.

FAQ

Questions on Sex Therapy in Oregon

Everything you need to know before your first session

No. Sex therapy is just as valuable for individuals as it is for couples. Many people come on their own to work through personal concerns around desire, trauma, identity, performance anxiety, or past experiences that are affecting their intimate life.

The initial consultation is $350. Ongoing sessions are $250. Payment is due at the time of the session.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your out-of-network benefits.

A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients who demonstrate financial need. Please reach out directly to discuss whether this is an option for your situation.

Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted as a form of payment. Please check with your plan provider to confirm that therapy services are covered under your specific account.

All sessions are 50 minutes.

All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth. This allows me to work with clients anywhere in Oregon — Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend, and beyond — without either of us leaving home.

Treatment length varies depending on the concern and your goals. Some clients see meaningful progress in 8 to 12 sessions. Others choose to continue longer for deeper relational or trauma work. We will discuss timelines openly as we go.

Weekly sessions are recommended early in treatment — they help build momentum, establish trust, and create consistency when the work is just beginning. That said, therapy should also be financially sustainable. Once we have established a good foundation, sessions can move to bi-weekly or whatever frequency works best for your life and budget. We will figure that out together.
